This holiday season, OGP Cares is spreading the spirit of generosity with its Season of Giving initiative, which aims to support local families in need while promoting community engagement through OC youth basketball and OC youth sports.
The first event in this initiative, Hoops for Hunger, was a huge success, where families and community members came together to donate canned and non-perishable food items. These donations will be distributed by OGP Cares to help those struggling in Orange County, ensuring that everyone has a warm meal this holiday season. As part of the event, Open Gym Premier Anaheim (OGP) also hosted a free basketball clinic for local youth, giving them the chance to improve their skills while making a positive impact on their community.
Donate to the gear drive!
In addition to the Hoops for Hunger event, OGP Cares is hosting an ongoing gear drive to collect lightly used athletic shoes, basketball tees, shorts, jerseys and gear for youth in need throughout Orange County, California. The gear drive is a wonderful opportunity for families to donate gently used items that can help young athletes continue to pursue their passion for sports, regardless of their financial situation. Both OGP Anaheim and OGP Ladera are accepting donations, and the drive will continue through December 22. All collected items will go directly to local families, ensuring that every child has the equipment they need to participate in OC youth basketball and other OC youth sports.
The OGP Cares Season of Giving initiative is a reminder of how powerful community action can be. It’s about coming together to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Whether through food donations or sports gear, every contribution helps build a stronger, more connected community in Orange County. Get involved today by donating to the gear drive or attending the next OGP Cares event!
